May the 23rd, 2025 – Split is set to become home to one of the most gorgeous beaches in the entire Mediterranean, and it will be entirely open to the public.
Dalmatia’s capital and the second largest city in Croatia is known for many things, and being the home of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Med is set to be another. The works are continuing on Split’s famous Žnjan beach, with a stunning result on the cards.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, one of Split’s most famous beaches will soon have a new look to boast of. After over one entire year of intensive works worth 45.5 million euros being carried out, the popular Žnjan has opened the beach and promenade to the public. The grand opening, however, is currently planned for the first day of summer, June the 21st.
As the City of Split initially stated on its Facebook page, the Žnjan plateau, Split’s new flagship, will open its doors to the public in mid-May, after all the necessary permits have been obtained. With the project worth 45 million euros, Split will become home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of the Mediterranean. There will also be a wide range of sports, cultural and recreational facilities on offer, as well as a large garage, and a green oasis in the very heart of the city.
Žnjan will also be home to numerous public facilities such as a promenade, bike paths, beautifully landscaped beaches with a diving board, and children’s and sports playgrounds. As if all of the aforementioned wasn’t enough, there will also be an amphitheatre for cultural and musical events, catering, hospitality and tourism, not to mention an array of accompanying facilities for citizens and visitors alike.
